Vietnam is no doubt an attractive destination for international travelers including the Indians.
In 2019, approximately 132 thousand Indians visitors traveled to Vietnam, a significant increase of 21% as compared to 2018. Furthermore, in just five years between 2015 and 2019, the average growth of the number of Indian tourists hit 26.7%.
According to the ambassador of India, India is considered one of the highest-spending nations in Vietnam; and by 2020, 50 million Indian globetrotters will be recorded.
The increasing number of Indian visitors to Vietnam is attributed to several reasons. One of those is that Vietnamese low-cost airline Vietjet Air launched direct flights between Hanoi and Delhi, Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi. Indian airline Indigo launched direct flights between Kolkata and Hanoi, and Kolkata and Ho Chi Minh City as well.
In addition to the great tourism effects that have been brought by the launching of direct flights between Vietnam and India, many Indian visitors are increasingly interested in this amazing country for these reasons: the country’s beautiful landscapes, safe travel environment, delicious cuisines, nice and friendly people and unique cultures and traditions.
A Vietnam visa for Indians is required if you are an Indian and want to visit this stunning country. The application process is relatively easy for a Vietnam visa for Indians and here’s all you need to know.
Depending on your visiting purposes, there are some options for a Vietnam visa for Indians.
Visa or Visa-on-arrival (VoA)
There are two ways that you can apply for a VoA if you’re an Indian national: apply for the visa at your local Vietnamese embassy or do it online.
The easiest way is to apply for the VoA online at www.vietnamvisa.govt.vn. Then you will get an approval letter that allows you to collect your visa at one of the Vietnamese international airports when you arrive in Vietnam.
VOA application fees vary depending on the duration of validity (from 1 to 3 months) and whether it’s a single-entry or multiple-entry visa. The fees range from US$18 to US$43 and the stamping fee is not included.
A business visa is also known as a DN visa in Vietnam. An Indian national will have to obtain an invitation letter from a Vietnamese business partner before they can proceed with the visa application.
A Vietnam business visa allows an Indian to stay, work and do business in a legal entity in Vietnam. Just like the VoA, the DN visa application fees vary depending on the duration of validity (from 1 to 3 months) and whether it’s a single-entry or multiple-entry visa. The fees range from US$70 to US$110 and do not include the stamping fee.
There is no way you can apply for a DN visa online. The only method that an Indian can use to apply and secure their DN visa is via sponsorship. Talk to Cekindo to know how we can serve as your sponsor.
